H7: Awakening a Generation to King Jesus

On Fri and Sat, Nov 10-11, 180 hosted Disciple NOW for Students. The weekend, focused on "Awakening a Generation to King Jesus," was filled with worship, community, and a transformative understanding of Jesus as the Lord of all.
Imagine 115 vibrant students and adult leaders coming together, all with one united purpose – to delve deep into the reality of Jesus being Lord over every aspect of our lives. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation as the event kicked off.

The worship, fueled by passionate voices lifted high in praise, was a lovely reminder of the power and presence of our Lord and his goodness, glory, and majesty.
But the heart of this event went beyond the music. The four main sessions revolved around the theme of submitting to the Lordship of Christ. These powerful messages resonated deeply within the hearts of our students, urging them to broaden their understanding of Jesus beyond just their personal savior. Amelia Larsen captured the essence of the weekend, saying, "This year, DNOW was such an amazing time! The worship was meaningful, the sermons were fantastic, and the small groups were so much fun! I'm already looking forward to next year!"
Isaac Johnson shared how the event transformed his perception of Jesus, saying, "It was an amazing weekend to spend in community and fellowship and to grow closer to my small group and the people around me. I liked the messages because I tend to think about Jesus as the guy who died to save me – while this is very important, he is also an all-powerful king! Thank you to all the leaders who helped plan this amazing weekend!"
Students stayed in grade- and gender-specific host homes to foster a sense of community. Students enjoyed bonding with fellow students who were experiencing the same spiritual journey! These cozy homes witnessed laughter, vulnerability, and genuine connections forming over late-night conversations about faith.

During small group discussions, students dived into topics that truly mattered. Friendships grew deeper as they grappled with what it means to submit to the Lordship of Christ in every area of life. These conversations became a safe space for personal growth.

We added a dash of adventure, too! The Quantum Leap trampoline and laser tag park injected some fun into the mix. We witnessed laughter-filled competitions and young hearts experiencing pure joy.
As the event concluded, hearts overflowed with gratitude for the incredible moments shared, lives transformed, and friendships deepened. The Student Ministry event served as a reminder that Jesus is not only our savior but also our all-powerful king, deserving our submission and devotion.

We can't wait to plan another DNOW next year, where students can come together to celebrate, worship, and grow closer to our amazing Lord. Until then, remember that Jesus is indeed the Lord of all.
