H7: Hope Center Ministries

Recently, a group of FCCers, who attended the annual banquet of The Hope Center Ministries, had the opportunity to witness firsthand the transformative work this local ministry is doing in our community by personally touring the Hope Center and Honeysuckle Studios.
The Hope Center offers a comprehensive network of care, ensuring that individuals facing an unplanned pregnancy receive the support they need. Services provided include pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, maternity and baby supplies, post-abortion counseling, Bible studies, parenting and individual mentorship classes, and even housing. Remarkably, all these services are provided completely free of charge, making them accessible to anyone in need.

In 2023 alone, The Hope Center has served a total of 2,000 individuals, demonstrating the widespread impact of their services. It is worth noting that this support is not limited to expectant mothers, as 67 dads have also sought assistance and mentoring from The Hope Center. The ministry's commitment to excellence is reflected in its seven paid staff members, five of whom work full-time, and an additional ten dedicated volunteers who selflessly give their time to mentor both parents.

In January 2022, The Hope Center expanded its services by opening Honeysuckle Studios, a faith-based maternity home specifically designed to provide a safe living environment for pregnant single women. Honeysuckle Studios can house up to 5 women. This initiative ensures that these women have the support they need during pregnancy and beyond by offering a cost-free, supportive housing solution.
First Christian Church (FCC) has been an ardent supporter of The Hope Center, recognizing the importance of their mission. In addition to providing monthly financial support, FCC actively participated in the baby bottle fundraiser from Mother's Day to Father's Day. Together with other contributors, the event raised an impressive $20,000, with FCC alone contributing over $5,650.

The commitment of FCC to The Hope Center was evident during the Annual Banquet held in October. Pam Crank, the Hope Center Executive Director identified a technical issue just before the event and promptly sought assistance. Wes Ford, FCC's Tech Director, swiftly came to the rescue by delivering a large screen from the Afton campus, ensuring that the event could proceed unhindered. This act of support highlights the intimate connection between FCC and The Hope Center, both physically and financially.

On the night of the banquet, over 30 FCCers were in attendance to support the Hope Center Ministries. The partnership between FCC and The Hope Center is a testament to the shared commitment of both organizations to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

With this commitment to choosing life, FCC is organizing a class in Spring 2024 called "How to Be a Pro-Life Christian." The class will delve into the pro-life movement, providing insights on the cause, sharing facts and statistics, exploring the biblical basis for life, and equipping individuals to defend and support pro-life causes. Stay tuned for more information on this valuable opportunity on the FCC website and app.

Together, we can continue to spread hope and create lasting change in our community.
