H7 Story: Sharing the Love of Christ

Because of the love shown to us by Christ, FCC has dedicated itself to sharing the love of Christ through "everyday boring faithfulness" throughout our community. As God has provided and opened opportunities for us throughout the years, we have served, supported, and shone the light of Jesus Christ in the local high schools in our area, and God has blessed our efforts.

We regularly show our gratitude to the educators in our city and county high schools for their hard work and commitment. Recently, several volunteers from FCC served a delicious lunch for the teachers at Greeneville High School. On the last day of school, around ten volunteers from our South Greene Campus prepared and hosted a special breakfast for South Greene High School's dedicated teachers and staff. By acknowledging their tireless efforts, we aimed to demonstrate the heart of Christ. As one Greeneville High School teacher said, "I am continually amazed by FCC's unwavering support of the staff at Greeneville High School! We are so thankful for the meals and treats you provide…They make our days more special, and we feel your love and support!"
Several volunteers at FCC took the opportunity to spread some of the beauty of the holiday season to our local high schools. Volunteers created an environment at Greeneville High School that radiated warmth and love with Thanksgiving-themed decor in the school's cafeteria during Thanksgiving. Volunteers from both campuses gave Christmas cheer at Chuckey-Doak and South Greene High Schools by decorating the cafeteria, auditorium, and hallways.
Our commitment to community and unity led us to actively seek opportunities to support the high schools in their scheduled events. During the Chuckey-Doak Christmas concert, we provided refreshments to those in attendance and provided the equipment and ran tech for the concert. South Greene's Tech Team set up and ran their portable tech equipment to help make the South Greene High School's Christmas concert successful. Throughout November and December, we partnered with Chuckey-Doak High School to collect non-perishable food items for the Greene County Food Bank, extending our support to those in need during the holiday season.
However, our outreach efforts extended beyond the school premises. We actively participated in community events in the city, such as a cookie decorating event in downtown Greeneville. It was a lovely way to be part of our community and bring joy to people of all ages. Additionally, we organized music for the 5k Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day.
What is the motivation behind all this outreach? It is crucial to understand that our outreach endeavors all stem from our love for Jesus Christ and as a way to show that love to others.

Through our outreach efforts in our high schools and the wider community, we have striven to pursue generosity in the spirit of Christ. By serving the teachers, spreading festive joy, providing support, and engaging the community, we have shown the love of Christ in action.  The body of Christ at FCC has shown genuine devotion to Christ and our community and it has made an impact on the lives of those we have touched, and it serves as a way to remind us that a little bit of kindness can go a long way in Helping People Find and Follow Jesus.
