Missionary Update: Jeff & Michelle Champlin
Missionary Update from Jeff and Michelle Champlin Family (Spain)
By Bob Radank, Next Steps/Missions Director
This week I had a wonderful Zoom meeting with Jeff and Michelle Champlin, missionaries to Spain we have supported since the beginning of 2020. They arrived in the northern part of Madrid about 9 weeks ago eager to integrate into Spanish life! Though they have experienced God's blessing and provision, it hasn't been without its challenges. Finding a permanent place to live in the northeastern suburb of Meco, Madrid was extremely difficult, and for many weeks, they were living in an Airbnb. In recent days, God has provided a rental home, and Jeff, Michelle and their son Simon Peter, are getting acclimated to their new surroundings. Being new to Spain, they were required to pay a full year’s rent up front, but their start-up funds were sufficient to cover the cost.
Language school and culture learning have consumed much of their time and energy. They want to plant a church by establishing a radio station and using the same Re|engage marriage curriculum we use, (but in Spanish of course!) These efforts will help them develop relationships and harvest souls, along with working with a team of veteran missionaries. What a cool vision to reach Spain with the Gospel!
Be in prayer for the Champlins as they learn the Spanish language and culture, develop unity with their coworkers, and build God’s kingdom for His glory!
