Meet the Bentleys: A Missionary Family Supported by FCC
Jesse and Sophie Bentley met as college students at Georgia Tech and developed a passion for campus ministry through their involvement with Christian Ministry Fellowship (CMF)’s Globalscope.

CMF is a missionary organization that allows churches to support missionaries whose purpose is cross-cultural evangelism. About 20 years ago, CMF created a new branch of their ministry called Globalscope which strives to help reach college students on international campuses. On many university campuses around the world, it can be nearly impossible to find Christian support and encouragement. That’s what Globalscope works to help improve.

Jesse and Sophie Bentley developed a passion for campus ministry through their involvement with CMF at Georgia Tech. They joined with CMF and Globalscope and began working with the campus ministry in Salamanca, Spain. In 2015 they moved with their three children to Valencia, Spain to help launch a second Globalscope ministry in a new Spanish city.

Valencia is the third largest city in Spain and home to several large universities – including the University of Valencia and the Polytechnic University of Valencia — with nearly 100,000 students. Young people come from all over the country to study here, so it was an ideal site to launch Globalscope’s ninth campus ministry and second in Spain!

As is the case with most people in Spain, many college students have little or no connections with any faith community, and it is estimated that less than five percent of Spanish students regularly attend church. A university town is the perfect place to form a community of students who are trying to figure out their lives, careers and faith journeys so that we can point them toward Jesus.

Jesse, Sophie, and their three children: Juliette, Liam, and Alena work to reach university students through the En Vivo Ministry, where students throughout Valencia find a healthy community of grace and truth. They help these students and encourage them to grow in their faith in Jesus through weekly Bible study events, semester retreats, small group Bible studies, servant leadership development, and many conversations.

The Bentleys are just one of many missionary families that FCC helps support. Your financial support directly impacts this family as they strive to reach college students for Jesus!

If you would like to reach out to the Bentleys to tell them you are praying for them and to let them know you appreciate them and their ministry in Spain, you can email them at jessebentley@gmail.com.
